It’s March. We’ve survived the longest month of the year. While I usually regard months that start on Mondays with deep suspicion, I’m willing to give this one the benefit of the doubt, because… it isn’t February!
Events: Just as the world is slowly starting to awake to Spring, so do we have a lot going on this month.
- Dawn Patrols, one on the 7th and one on the 28th.
- Spin Class ends on the 11th, but there will be more and more to take its place.
- Day Light Saving Time starts on the 14th. (YES!)
- We're doing the first of the Audax Tune Up rides on the 14th
- The South Side Cycling Club will do a St. Patrick’s ride on the 13th.
- Erin’s Fight will host a maintenance and safety clinic, at Bicycles Unlimited, on the 15th at 6:00 PM.
- Erin’s Fight Weekly Rides start on the 16th, at Bicycles Unlimited, 6:00 PM, short route for now, longer when we have more daylight.
- The Great and Weird Road Dragon Bike Contest swings into action. Check tomorrow’s post for entry information.
- Tour de Pike is on Saturday, the 20th. Go to http://www.kiwanispike.org/
- Wheels of Fire has expanded to a full weekend event. Evening of March 26th, through morning of March 28th. For info go to http://www.harriscountychamber.org/CycleTour/
- I'm in my home shop with the heaters running. I'm working on the build of the Fixie/SS for the contest. I'm getting excited about this one.
Looks like there’s enough to keep us all busy and pedaling for the month.
Tourists, have you started your “weight training” yet? Time to begin to add some training weight to your bike.
Are your lights working and charged? The Dawn Patrols are a blast!
Is your bike tuned up? Get it done! The season is upon us!
